Hi, I’m an avid music fan and I’ve always loved music since I was 5 years old. I think I wanted to become a musician at some point in life but that is a story for another day. At 10 years I had this urge of having my favourite artiste’s album every time they released one and boy was it hard. The costs were way off the roof and there’s just so much of paper delivery and lemonade sales that a 10 year old kid can make in a month (or two for that matter). Therefore, my only alternative was to borrow some money from my dad with the promise of paying back (which I hardly ever did). The good thing is that he was also a music fan just like me, probably genetic, so lending me a few bucks on top of what I had didn’t bother him at all as long as I brought him some great music to listen to.
Fast forward 10 years later, in my first job and with the onset of mp3 players; music became something else. Previously you could only carry a limited number of CDs, as much as you could fit in your back pack; however, the mp3 player brought a new aspect to music. You could be able to carry 10,000 songs in your pocket with no substantial weight burden. This meant you could download as much music as you wanted to listen to for the whole year. Napsterwas a great help when it came to getting free music downloads for all those who were around during that period.
However, in as much as one could be able to download as much music as they needed, there was still the problem of getting updated on new music trends. For young people this can be easy but once you grow older and work starts wearing you down, there is just so much you can do when it comes to researching on new music content out there. So in came music applications and streaming sites that use your previous playlists to give you more suggestions of new music.
Currently there are many internet radio stations around, some of which I have never heard of but which offer great music content. There is also a number of streaming music sites where you can listen to radio on your pc or mobile phone wherever you are, as long as there is a working internet connection. Furthermore, you don’t have to manually search for new music every day. You can get new music suggestions to play on most of these sites.
I know internet radio can be a maze for people new to it. That is why I decided to create this website in order to give valuable insight into the world of music and more so for internet radio stations and their accompanying music streaming sites.
